The shape is inspired by a tumbler toy, which moves and yet always finds its way back to its center. A wide, flat body opens upward and appears to float slightly. The middle is gently constricted in volume before the shape widens again downward and ends in a rounded but still stable base. This sequence of expansion, constriction, and grounding gives the object a calm, architectural presence. The exterior is silk-matte bisque porcelain and emphasizes the plasticity of the form. The inside is glazed and therefore suitable for use with water.
